Study Visit to Varna University of Management, 29 May-02 June 2022

On May 29 – June 02 2022, within Erasmus+ COOPERA project ′′Integration of dual higher education in Moldova and Ukraine” (reference number: 617490-EPP-1-2020-1-MD-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP) has been organized and realized Study Visit to the Varna University of Management from Bulgaria. Partner Universities from Moldova and Ukraine, together with representative of the Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova have been actively involved in the study visit and followed agenda prepared by the hosts.

At the study visit has participated the working groups from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, Tehnical University of Moldova, Free University of Moldova, Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova, Uzhhorod National University and KROK University from Ukraine, who holded discussions  and exchanged knowledge and experiences in the field of dual education system.

During the first day of the study Visit the COOPERA project partner’s teams had a chance to learn about the experience of VUM in higher educational field, best results and achievemtns and gain knowledge on their international experience and number one university in student mobility according to U-Multirank. The presentation was realised by Christina Armutlieva, Director of International Cooperation.

The day continued with presentation realised by Vanina Valcheva, Academic Partnerships Coordinator about Culinary Arts programmes from an academic point of view, were all COOPERA project working groups learned about strategic partnerships of VUM and discussed in detail on the experience of the dual education based on the  Culinary Arts programme. Moreover, during the fist day were realised presentation of the practice-oriented education in the classroom, realised by Irina PETKOVA, Lecturer, presentation of the Hotel Practice module realised by Dr Boryana UMNIKOVA, Lecturer and presentation of VUM collaboration with employers realised by Salzina GEORGIEVA, Head of Career Center.

The second day of the study visit was dedicated to the practical workshop at Culinary Arts Institute coordinated by the Hugues BOUTIN, Culinary Arts Programmes Director and Head Chef Instructor, were all COOPERA project working groups will be learning hands-on skills in the kitchen tohether with VUMs proffesionals, whcih finalised with a group dinner and closing session.

The last day of the visit was dedicated to the project management panel session, group discussions and overview of the VUM’s study visit and one-on-one consultation with VUM experts on dual education cncept and implementation.
