Uzhhorod National University (P5-UzhNU/UA) belongs to classic universities of Ukraine, holding the highest 4th level of accreditation. It is one of the largest and best universities of the Carpathian region, situated in a wonderful student city Uzhhorod on the slopes of the Carpathian Mountains in Western Ukraine. The university is young; it was founded in 1945 but it has acquired a well-deserved reputation in a scientific world. Uzhhorod National University enables the students to fully realise their potential and become well-rounded persons. At present about 15,500 students study here. The university provides training programs in 9 specialities of Junior Specialist qualification, as well as in 36 fields of Bachelor programs and 84 fields of Specialist and Master Programs. The innovation triad is being implemented in all fields and specialities: the extensive foreign language learning, mastering of information technologies and promoting intensive informational ties on different levels.

According to the international scientometric data, Uzhhorod National University has ranked stably among the 10 leading scientific centres of Ukraine. In the course of 69 years, it has worked out its own school of teaching (instruction), scientific and educational traditions. The University takes pride in its 150 doctors of science, 136 candidates of science, 12 laureates of State prize, 57 Doctors Honoris Causa, 2 corresponding members of the National Academy of science, 2 corresponding members of the branches  of the National Academy of science of Ukraine. The teaching staff of the university defend up to 10 doctoral and 40 candidate dissertations annually. More than 300 postgraduate students and 400 adjuncts in 53 specialities are trained at the University. There are five specialized Academic Councils on awards of doctoral and candidate degrees in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Economy, History and Law.

KROK University (P6-KROK/UA) is founded in 1992 and is the best private university in Ukraine (since 2015 according to TOP 200 Ukraine). In 2003 the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine accredited the University at the IV (highest) level. «KROK» University is the team of about 3500 students, more than 700 of them are international students from 40 countries all over the world, and about 350 academic staff, 70% are PhD holders. One of the current priorities of «KROK» University is to ensure the quality of practical training of the professionals in the sphere of Economics, Management, Tourism, IT, Design, Law, Psychology and Medicine.

In 2017 the Career Development Centre (CDC) was reorganized with the aim to increase the practical-oriented component of educational programs at university and bridge the gap between education (training) and labour market. New possibilities for internships were introduced, new forms of training were widely implemented to study (educational) plans: master classes, case studies, practical workshops, creative laboratories, etc. Now 92 companies-employers are the active partners participating in CDC projects, initiating their own projects. «KROK» University also introduces informal educational projects that include business plans design, implementation of specialized educational projects, creative laboratories, cooperates with business, international and national organizations, adopts the innovative applied technologies, participates in the international projects. Thus, during the Tempus project «Entrepreneur Alumni NETwork», that aimed to promote the development of international university network of alumni, «KROK» University established the community of alumni-entrepreneurs “Business League”. Now alumni from different spheres are involved in the process of new educational programs (curricula) creation and improvement of existing ones. 

In September 2018, the “Concept of professionals’ training on dual form of education” was adopted by Ukrainian Government. «KROK» University started development of its roadmap for piloting the dual education at some programs. Finance, Nursing and Law were chosen at the first stage. So, the integration of dual learning into educational process at «KROK» University is the up-to-date task.

V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (P7-KKNU/UA) was founded in November 1804 and is now one of Ukraine’s leading HEIs. It is one of the largest high-skilled specialists training centers in Eastern Ukraine with its 24 internationally approved scientific schools. KKNU now consists of 21 schools, 126 departments, majoring in 61 specialties. KKNU is the only university in Ukraine that can boast having trained and employed 3 Nobel Prize winners: the biologist I. Mechnikov, the economist S. Kuznets, and the physicist L. Landau. Since 2003 KKNU has the highest status of a self-governing national university, and in 2010 it became an educational-research institution. It employs up to 1,500 faculty and research staff, including more than 1200 PhDs and full professors. KKNU has always been focusing on continuous education, modernisation of students services, including student’s placement and employment, efficient faculty staff retraining and cooperation with the leading universities in Ukraine and Europe. Student and Alumni Employment Center was created on the initiative of the Student Academic Council of the University in 2011. Main directions of work of the center: organization of career events as job fairs, university career weeks, employer presentations, trainings etc .; cooperation with employers.

Odessa National Economic University (P8-ONEU/UA) is one of the higher institutions in Ukraine implementing Bologna process. In 2010 the ONEU signed Magna Charta. The university provides modern educational techniques and teaching methods.  The ONEU participated in many international projects, it has a 5 double-degree programs with the EU-Universities. Today it is one of the leading higher educational institutions of Ukraine in economics and it has been a member of the European Association of Universities (EUA) since 1995. Over 3  000 students study at the university. 40 professors and 240 PhD and associate professors deliver lectures in the ONEU. The university is ranked 35th top among 200 Ukrainian universities.

The university trains highly qualified economists (bachelors and masters) for various branches of the national economy, preparing scientific personnel (including PhD and Doctor of Science), implementing fundamental and applied scientific research.  The ONEU has 9 departments: Economics and Management of Production, International Economy, Finance Economic, Credit Economic, Accounting Economic , Commercial (Evening) , Correspondence Department, Department of Professional Development, Special Department of personnel retraining. There are strong links with business community of Odessa Region. According to the 73 partner agreements signed with leading educational institutions from Poland, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, France, Great Britain and the USA, university takes an active part in the development and implementation of various international projects and programs including TEMPUS, DAAD and others.

Odessa National Economic University has 195 cooperation agreements with companies. Today, the university holds forums, open lectures of business representatives, consultations with employers on improving and updating curricula to their needs, conducts surveys of employers on the competencies of graduates, leading experts in various industries are involved in committees to protect the graduate work of students. The University has been hosting a job fair since 2004. The main purpose of the event is to enable students to communicate directly with their employers about their future employment. Participating companies are able to present themselves and their jobs. Each time, 30 to 50 conducted companies from Odessa and Ukraine as a whole are represented at the fair, including international companies belonging to the Big Four of the world’s audit companies.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (P9-MESU/UA) is the central executive public body in the system of Ukrainian government responsible for developing, implementation and monitoring nation-wide policies in the areas of education and science. Programmes and initiatives launched and supported by the Ministry aim at providing greater access to high-quality, internationally recognized education and training opportunities for Ukrainian and foreign students, researchers, academic and administrative staff. The Ministry operates under the system of Directorates Generals in charge of evidence-based policy making in various fields of education and science (pre-school and school education, vocational education and training, higher education, inclusive education, innovation and technological transfer, science and research, strategic planning and European integration).

Structural reforming and capacity building in higher education have a profound impact on the policy formation and are central to boosting competitiveness of the national system of higher education, particularly, within the framework of integration into the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area. In that, solid competence and proactive role of the Ministry serve as the cornerstone for safeguarding the success and welfare of Ukraine and its citizens as integral part of European nations. The main objectives of the current higher education reform encompass institutionalization of effective system of higher education quality assurance, establishing synergy between higher education and research, modernization of the national qualifications system, increasing effectiveness and efficiency of the funding models, and enhancing its international dimension. The Ministry works towards establishing compliance with the requirements and standards of the European Union in areas of education and research and takes into account best national and institutional practices of the EHEA and ERA stakeholders.
