COOPERA expert workshop, 3rd edition

Within the ERASMUS+ project “Integrating Dual Higher Education in Moldova and Ukraine – COOPERA” (Reference number: 617490-EPP-1-2020-1-MD-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP), on November 23, 2023, at the premises of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) took place the third expert workshop dedicated to the dual higher education.

The event started with welcome speech from Ms. Nadeja VELISCO, General Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova and Ms. Olesea SIRBU, Vice-Rector for International Relations and European Projects of ASEM and COOPERA grant coordinator, who highlighted the importance of dual higher education.

The event has been held in physical format with number of presentations and discussions, which were focused on the following topics:

Regulations regarding dual higher education in the Republic of Moldova, speaker – Mrs. Ala LUCA, main consultant, Policy Directorate in the field of higher education, Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova presented the Development Strategy “Education 2030” and the Dual Higher Education Concept in the general field of Educational Sciences.
The involvement of companies in promoting dual education and attracting candidates, speaker – Mrs. Ludmila STIHI, Vocational Education and Training expert, GIZ Moldova. The factors that motivate companies to participate in the dual education system, the cooperation between economic agents and higher education institutions, the way in which companies are involved in attracting candidates, etc. were mentioned.
Description of the dual education model within the University of Lleida (UdL), speaker – Mr. Ferran BADIA, Vice-Rector, UdL and Magda VALLS, Dean of UdL.
The main achievements and obstacles in the piloting of dual education programs within ASEM, in partnership with Moldova Agroindbank (MAIB), Ms. Diana POPA, Human Resources specialist, MAIB and Ionela DAŞCHEVICI, ASEM student, came up with constructive suggestions to make the learning process more efficient.
The main achievements and obstacles in the piloting of the dual education programs within ULIM, speakers – Mrs. Natalia SPINU, director, European Institute of Political Studies from Moldova and Luminița MIRO, ULIM student.
The main achievements and obstacles in the piloting of dual education programs within UTM from perspective of teaching staff, speaker – Mrs. Viorica SUDACEVSCHI, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Systems Engineering, UTM.

The second part of the workshop included presentations on the main achievements and obstacles in the piloting of dual education programs within Ukrainian Universities:

State Univeraity “Uzhhorod National University”, Ukraine, speaker – Tetyana BUTURLAKINA, COOPERA institutional coordinator UzhNU, Ukraine;
KROK University, Ukraine, speaker – Andrii LOTARIEV, COOPERA institutional coordinator KROK, Ukraine;
V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukraine, speaker – Yuliia KVITKA, COOPERA institutional coordinator KKNU, Ukraine;
Odessa National University of Economics, Ukraine, speaker – Oleksandr LITVINOV, Vice-Rector for Research, ONEU, Ukraine.

At the same time, during the event has been made a synergy with Erasmus+ CBHE project “UPGRADE – Enhancing Graduates’ Employability Tracking in Moldova” (Reference number: 101129166), which started on 1st November 2023 and participants had a chance to learn about the objectives and activities planned within the project.

The workshop ended with the questions and answer session, the formulation of conclusions and the planning of the next actions within the ERASMUS+, COOPERA project.
